ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a dynamic, professional Accountant to join our audit and assurance team. Exposure to or experience in the agriculture industry is highly desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing client year end accounting records, financial statements, and personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Identifying issues & potential solutions and making recommendations for the best solution.
  • Developing positive relationships with clients and staff.
  • Participating in pre &post engagement discussions on the work and how to improve service to the client.
  • Working within time budgets, monitoring progress to budget and meeting deadlines.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Have 2-3 years of experience in public practice or related field of accounting. Experience at a public accounting office is an asset.
  • Have 2-3 years of computerized accounting experience with strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Working towards or recently completed the CA or CGA program
  • Be proficient with MS Word and Excel and preferably, good working knowledge of Caseware.

CO-OP or ARTICLING STUDENT

  • We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Accounting student to join our audit and assurance team. This individual must be working towards a CA or CGA designation.

 

This position includes:

  • Preparing client accounting records, financial statements and tax returns
  • Identifying issues & potential solutions
  • Developing positive relationships with clients and staff
  • Working within time budgets, monitoring progress to budget and meeting deadlines

The successful candidate must have:

  • 4 – 12 months of experience in public practice or industry
  • General Accounting computer experience
  • Knowledge of Caseware would be an asset
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience at a public accounting firm would be desirable

ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL

This role is perfectly suited for a positive, outgoing individual with excellent customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, strong organizational and time management abilities. We are looking for a highly energetic individual who is results driven with strong written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate should also be detail-oriented, proactive with the ability to work independently in a fast paced deadline driven environment, but also possess the ability to assist the other administrative team members as Catalyst is a strong team based environment.

 

This position includes:

  • Managing complex calendars and schedules through the Outlook program
  • Producing intricate documentation for the leadership team
  • Acting as an intermediary between clients and Partners, accepting and returning
    phone calls, emails
  • Drafting, proofreading and printing all documentation. Material will include routine correspondence, as well as financial statements, corporate presentation materials and other information for public consumption.
  • Maintain and safeguard confidential files, documents and records as they relate to company operations.
  • Time entry for the Partners into the time and billing software
  • Preparation of monthly invoicing
  • Coordinating travel arrangements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Exceptional proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Outlook
  • The ability to create mail merges
  • Previous experience supporting executive-level individuals
  • Experience working in a professional Accounting and Business Advisory firm would be an asset
  • A Post secondary education in an office administrative program. Equivalent years of office experience will be considered
  • The ability to act professionally and in the best interests of the Firm and the leadership at all times
  • Strong internal and external client service skills
  • Previous experience with dictation or voice recognition software
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle tight timelines
